From April 8 to 10, Energy Week Black Sea took place in Bucharest – one of the most significant events for renewable energy in the region, gathering over 300 participants from the Black Sea countries, including investors, experts, institutional representatives, and energy companies.
Bulgaria was represented by leading experts in the sector.
Dr. Eng. Veselin Todorov, Chairman of the Council of Industry Associations at the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and Chairman of the “Solar Academy Bulgaria” Association, participated in the panel discussion “Grid Fit for Renewables,” dedicated to the challenges faced by the energy infrastructure and the necessary reforms for more effective integration of renewable sources.
Svetoslav Mladenov, representative of Smart Energy Group and board member of the “Solar Academy Bulgaria” Association, moderated the Bulgaria Country Table – a session discussing the current policies, regulatory framework, and investment potential of the country in the field of green energy.
This year’s edition of the forum placed a special emphasis on green financing, the energy transition, and corporate Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). Participants had the opportunity to engage in discussions on topics such as price trends, guarantees of origin, and new regulatory instruments to promote renewable energy.
For the first time, new collaboration formats were introduced – meetings between energy producers and end consumers to encourage direct partnerships and the conclusion of sustainable agreements for the supply of green energy.
